Explanation of Benefits

1.        Overseas Emergency Medical Assistance

Overseas Emergency Medical Assistance: Cover for emergency medical assistance while you are overseas, including: 24 Hour Emergency Medical Assistance, Ambulance fees, Medical Evacuations, Funeral Arrangements, Messages to family and Hospital Guarantees.


2.       Overseas Emergency Medical & Hospital Expenses

Overseas Emergency Medical and Hospital Expenses: Cover for overseas medical treatment if you are injured or become sick overseas, including; Medical, Hospital, Surgical and Nursing.


3.       Emergency Dental Expenses

Dental expenses: Cover for your emergency dental treatment for the relief of sudden and acute pain to sound and natural teeth.


4.       Hospital Cash Allowance

Hospital cash allowance: An allowance of $50 per day if you are hospitalised for more than 48 continuous hours while overseas.


5.       Accidental Death

Accidental death: A death benefit is payable if you die because of an injury sustained during your journey within 12 months of that injury.


6.      Permanent Disability

Permanent disability: A permanent disability benefit is payable for total loss of sight in one or both eyes or loss of use of a hand or foot (for at least 12 months, and which will continue indefinitely) within 12 months of, and because of, an injury sustained during your journey.


7.       Additional accommodation and Travel expenses

Additional Accommodation & Travel Expenses: Cover for additional travel expenses if you cannot travel because of an injury or sickness (whilst overseas).


8.      Resumption of Journey

Resumption of Journey: Cover for the cost of airfares for you to resume your Journey if you return Home because of the unexpected death or hospitalisation of a Relative of yours or if you must resume your journey overseas due to work event. 


9.      Loss of income

Loss of income: A weekly loss of income benefit is payable if you become disabled within 30 days of an injury you sustained during your journey, and you are still unable to work more than 30 days after returning to Australia.


10.    Alternative Staff

Alternative Staff: Covers  reasonable costs for a replacement employee to complete the original assignment for which you were originally sent if, as a result of you injury or illness. 


11.     Cancellation Fee & Lost Deposits

Cancellation fees and lost deposits: Cover for cancellation fees and lost deposits for pre-paid travel arrangements due to unforeseen circumstances neither expected nor intended by you, and which are outside your control, such as; sickness, injuries, strikes, collisions and natural disasters. 


12.    Disruption of Journey

Disruption of Journey: Cover for additional meals and accommodation expenses, after an initial 6 hours delay, if your Journey is disrupted due to circumstances beyond your control.


13.    Alternative Transport Expenses

Alternative transport expenses: Cover for additional travel expenses following transport delays to reach pre-arranged event for the purposes of business trip. 


14.    Luggage and Personal Effects

Luggage & Personal Effects: Cover for replacement of luggage and personal effects stolen, lost or damaged during travel. This includes luggage, personal effects, camera, spectacles and computer.


15.    Luggage and Personal Effects Delay Expenses

Luggage & Personal Effects Delay Expenses: Cover to purchase essential items of clothing and other personal items following Luggage delayed and Personal Effects being delayed, misdirected or misplaced by your carrier for more than 12 hours.


16.    Travel Documents and Credit Cards

Cover for the replacement cost of your credit cards lost or stolen from you during your journey, and loss resulting from fraudulent use. Cover the replacement costs of your travel documents. 


17.    Theft of cash

Theft of cash: Cover for the following items stolen from your person, bank notes, cash, currency notes, postal orders and money orders.


18.    Personal Liability

Personal liability: Cover for legal liability including legal expenses for bodily injuries or damage to property of other persons as a result of a claim made against you.


19.    Rental Vehicle Excess

Rental vehicle excess: Cover for the excess payable on your rental vehicle's motor vehicle insurance resulting from the rental vehicle being; Stolen, Crashed or Damaged and/or cost of returning the rental vehicle due to you being unfit to do so.


20. Pre-paid shore excursions cancellation

Covers cancellation fees if you cannot participate in your pre-paid shore excursions due to sickness or injury. 


21. Missed cruise departure

Covers reasonable cost to reach your booked holiday destination due to unforeseen events. Please refer to PDS  for full terms and conditions.


22. Cabin confinement

Covers an allowance of $50 for each 24 hours you are confined to your cabin or the cruise vessel’s hospital due to sickness or injury. 


23. Missed port cover

Allowance of $100 for each day if your scheduled port visit is cancelled due to weather or timetable restrictions. 


24. Own snow gear

Cover for replacement of repair of  your snow gear owned by you, if it is accidently damaged or stolen during your journey.


25. Snow gear hire excess

Cover for the excess or repair cost payable on your snow ski equipment hire insurance, if equipment is damaged or stolen due to event covered under this policy. 


26. Lift pass (loss or theft)

Reimbursement of your lift pass if it is stolen or lost during your journey. 


27. Piste closure

Cover for the cost of transport to the nearest resort and the cost of additional ski passes if all lift systems are closed as a result of not enough snow, bead weather or power failure in your pre-booked resort. 


28.Bad weather and avalanche closure

Cover for extra travel and accommodation expenses if your pre-paid put ward or return journey is delayed for more than 12 hours as a result of bad weather or avalanche. 


29. Emergency rescue

Cover for medical transfer or evacuation if you must be transported to the nearest hospital for emergency medical treatment.
